Nancy Doyle, OTD, OTR/L
|
Nancy Doyle, OTD, OTR/L received her B.A. in Psychology from Yale University, her M.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and her Doctor of Occupational Therapy from Boston University. Nancy's clinical background is working with students with learning and sensory differences in school and pediatric clinic settings. Her master's research and thesis focused on the play behaviors of children with autism, developmental delay, and typical development.
Since 2006, Nancy has lived abroad in Mexico City, Mexico and Cairo, Egypt. During this time, she has been involved in online occupational therapy education at Boston University, first as an online facilitator and then as a doctoral student. Her doctoral project "Accommodating Graduate Student Learning Styles in Post-Professional Online Occupational Therapy Courses" combined her clinical and instructional interests.
Nancy is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, the World Federation of Occupational Therapy, and the editorial board for WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment, and Rehabilitation. She has published in the American Journal of Occupational Therapy and co-authored a chapter on Technology in Education in Health Professional as Educator (2011, edited by S.B. Bastable, P. Gramet, K. Jacobs, and D.L. Sopczyk). Nancy's interests include evidence-based online education, the use of technology in educational settings, and constructing inclusive learning opportunities. |
