Program Director's Message
The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) has created a bold vision for our profession — that "by the year 2017, occupational therapy will be a powerful, widely-recognized, science-driven, and evidence-based profession with a globally connected and diverse workforce meeting society's occupational needs" (www.aota.org).
Our distance education post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree is designed to help our profession reach this vision by educating occupational therapists to be leaders in the delivery of healthcare and to use evidence to support their occupational therapy practice. The advantage of distance education is that it fosters a global connection, as well.
We are very excited to announce that our students now have two post-professional degree options — the Master of Science and the Doctor of Occupational Therapy degrees. No matter what your educational goals are, Boston University will be here to support you.
Students in, and graduates from, our distance education post-professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy program are leaders who are expanding knowledge and critical thinking in occupational therapy through excellence in education, research, practice, service, and policy development. They are helping occupational therapy to be a powerful, widely recognized, science-driven, and evidence-based profession.
